ALTERNATIVE FORMAT TEXT DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT

Disability Services will obtain, create an/or distribute required course materials in specialized alternative formats as long as the alternative formats are for the exclusive use of persons with documented print disabilities.

Among these specialized formats is electronic text ("e text"). E-text is a computer readable electronic file that duplicates a physical text such as a textbook. There are many types of e text such as TXT, DOC, HTML, PDF, Braille or virtually any non graphical text representation.

By signing this agreement Texas A&M University - Adaptive Technology Services agrees to provide the following services:

  1. Texas A&M University - Adaptive Technology Services will determine if you qualify as having a print disability and are eligible for alternative formats of copyrighted materials.
  2. Texas A&M University - Adaptive Technology Services will provide access to the requested e text when it is available.
  3. Texas A&M University - Adaptive Technology Services will train you in the use the e text files and provide support throughout the duration of the Agreement.

By signing this agreement, you agree to the following conditions:

  1. You must qualify to use alternative formats as determined by your disability service provider.
  2. You must own a physical copy of the textbook you are requesting in alternative format.
    1. Proof of purchase (receipts) may be requested by Disability Services to verify ownership.
  3. You must currently be registered as a student at Texas A&M University.
  4. You agree not to distribute the alternative format material we provide to any other person or toshare your login information with any other person.
  5. Copyrighted alternative format texts will only be available during the semester for which you are registered for that class.
  6. You agree that these alternative format texts are provided to you at no charge (other than indirectly through standard academic service fees).
  7. You agree to follow the procedures outlined by Adaptive Technology Services for gaining access to and utilizing the e text files.
  8. You must request the e text file at least 30 days in advance of need by entering your request in the "GetMyBooks" website (https://getmybooks.tamu.edu).

By their signatures Texas A&M University - Adaptive Technology Services and the student named below agree to the above conditions and are bound to the Agreement.
